Akua is devoted to writing books and taking part in programs that promote children’s pride and awareness about African culture. Be it Africans living in America or Black people of African decent living, born and raised in any country, there is a critical need for children to learn about Black heroes and historical figures who have made great contributions in history. A strong believer that if children can recognize cartoon and comic book figures they can also become familiar with and admire real historical figures as well.
